One of the keys to current commercial office energy conservation is bi-level switching. "Bi-level" means that you can have ceiling lights on one switch but also task lights such as a desk lamp with a separate switch. By having the dual controls, each individual can use only the light that he or she needs for a particular task. The adjustable candleholder lets someone raise or lower the light according to his or her needs to read something in detail or to illuminate a larger portion of a room. I am pleased to share these graphics as well as the drawings from my travels around the world over the past three decades. The ink sketches are all from field observations drawn on fold-out sketch books, most of which are about seven feet long.
